Puss in Boots is an animated film centered around the character of Puss (Antonio Banderas), a sword-fighting cat originally from the Shrek movies. The movie is essentially a prequel, telling the story of how Puss came to be “Puss in Boots”. The film is basically about two orphans that become friends and split apart as they grow older, as one takes the path of good and the other takes the path of evil. Their journeys come full circle and meet in the end as they realize the mistakes they have made towards each other.

They should have used this for the tagline for The Forbidden Kingdom because this is the first movie in memory where Jet Li smiles more than once and actually looks like he means it. The Forbidden Kingdom was touted as the first pairing of Kung Fu superstars Jet Li and Jackie Chan. That was enough to get a core fan base out. But how was the movie?
