X-Men: First Class
A prequel to the first three X-Men movies, X-Men: First Class is set in period before Professor Xavier and Magneto became mortal enemies. Matthew Vaughn follows a younger Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr as they lead a team of mutants and save the world from nuclear annihilation and, in the process, shows us how the two powerful friends clash and break off into different missions: Professor X leadings his X-Men to fight for good and Magneto spreading destruction with his Brotherhood.

Just like the world needs superheroes, the world also needs good superhero movies, and Thor (2011) delivers one with an epic punch. After hearing some months ago about how Marvel was making a Thor movie, I, being a Marvel fan in a long familial line of Marvel fans, had my doubts. First of all, I had concerns that Thor (and the coming Captain America) would be made into a cheap money-making copout just for the sake of introducing him for the Avengers movie. In just a brief ninety-three minutes, everything you think you know about reality will be turned upside-down during a fast-paced and moving cinematic experience. Source Code, directed by the insightful Duncan Jones, is this year’s best kept secret.
