This Means War is a romantic comedy based on two CIA agents fighting over Lauren, who is played by Reese Witherspoon. They both want the girl and neither of them likes to lose. So based on their knowledge of espionage, they combat each other with high tech weapons and tricks designed to make the other guy look bad. Lauren can't make up her mind which one of them to pick. It is a high-stakes game of spy vs. spy. The winner could lose the girl and the friendship or he could gain it all.

Snap Judgement: Lorax, Snow, and Arrietty

Having been privileged (?) to see three trailers for book-to-movie family features the last time I was out on assignment, I'm handing down some snap judgements on them today.
The Lorax -- the book was better. And by "book" I mean the version that ran in one of my mom's magazines when I was, well, still a kid. Too many humans spoil a Dr. Seuss story. So do too many obvious points, like a town where the plants are all plastic.
