The Last Airbender is based on a Nickelodeon animated series called Avatar: The Last Airbender (A:TLA). The film adaptation omitted the word Avatar in deference to James Cameron’s billion dollar box-office monster of the same name. The TV show was popular in its three-season run from 2005 to 2008.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Warning: caffeine-fueled ramblings ahead. I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night at midnight. If you've never had the opportunity to go to a midnight release, I highly suggest you do. The atmosphere is unlike anything I've ever experienced at typical movie screenings. I've also seen the 6th Potter installment (Half-Blood Prince) and the third Pirate of the Caribbean film at midnight, and all three experiences were fabulous. Everyone is so enthusiastic about the film, and the excitement (and sleep deprivation) gives the audience a common bond.
