No matter how great the people are in this movie its hard not to find fault with Wong Kar-Wais bland script. Its a standard, pretentious, indie-film story rooted in New York and told with more genuine feeling than it probably deserves. The result is an uneven movie with amazing moments, and then all the excessive slow motion in between. IMy Blueberry NightsI has a cast that makes it better than it ought to be...

Theres really nothing I can say here that will make you decide whether you want to see ISuperhero Moviei or not. If you liked the IScary Moviei flicks than this is probably right up your alley, since Mazin is responsible for half of that franchise. Just know going in that this isnt some clever parody of the flood of superhero movies weve seen in the past few years. Its ISpider-Mani with dick and fart jokes.

i21i is an entertaining twist on the heist flick. Director Robert Luketic, whose previous efforts include iLegally Blondei and iWin A Date With Tad Hamiltoni, finally breaks loose from the romantic comedy chain gang and proves hes more than just the next Garry Marshall. Not that there would be anything wrong with that, but the world doesnt really need a second person cranking out iPrincess Diariesi.

Before the credits roll the screen flashes statistics about the governments use of the stop loss regulation. As I read I wanted to be startled into feeling sympathetic for these characters and their real-life counterparts, but I was too burnt to care. Peirce strips the story of its meaning with hammered-in, blatant Bush-bashing and it left me feeling as though Id just walked out of a fanatic-filled political rally.
