Review:
Listen, I could tick off places where Dreamgirls trips up in transporting Michael Bennett's 1981 Broadway musical phenom to film. But it's hard to complain when you're at the party of the year. This baby dazzles like nothing else anywhere. Starting with its dream cast, led by Jamie Foxx and...

Review:
Here's a thought: instead of rehashing Mel Gibson's Jew-bashing rants when L.A. cops got him on a DUI in July, let's stick to his movie. Apocalypto brings out what's...

Turistas

November 28th, 2006
ITuristasI is the first film from 20th Century Foxs new youth-oriented division Fox Atomic. If ITuristasI is symptomatic of what theyll be offering, youth-oriented apparently means violent, gory, rated-R torture movies. Well, thats not really fair. The film takes quite awhile to get to the violence and gore; before that its mostly excessive drinking and gratuitously exposed boobs. Hi kids!

Movie Review | ‘Invisible’: First the Bickering, Then the Murky Violence

November 28th, 2006
A moody thriller about an unhappily married couple, a remote cabin and a pair of homicidal crazies.

Movie Review | ‘Happy Feet’: Bring in Da Hoofers on Ice

Even in a story about singing-and-dancing fat and feather, the director George Miller can’t help but go dark and deep.

Reno 911!: Miami

November 27th, 2006
The popular Comedy Central COPS parody series Reno 911! becomes a movie; who saw that coming? After all, the idea of an inept police force has already been done recently on film by Broken Lizards ISuper TroopersI. Heres the thing though: Reno 911! does it better. Broken Lizard had five minutes of funny in their film, the men and women of Renos police force have delivered four seasons. For the film, the entire Comedy Central cast steps right in, supplemented only by the genius of IThe 40 Year-Old VirginI and IAnchormansI Paul Rudd. Along with the cast comes the shows creator Ben Garant.
